About GLOBAÏA
GLOBAÏA is named for two ideas held together: the global and Gaïa — the planetary whole, and the living Earth. The work emerges from a simple conviction: that to understand our condition, we must learn to see our world as one.
Through data visualisation, interactive experiences, and interdisciplinary storytelling, GLOBAÏA produces work for scientists, educators, filmmakers, museums, and institutions — including as part of the so-called "Third UN," the informal networks of researchers and civil-society organisations that shape global policy.

One paragraph
GLOBAÏA is a non-profit organisation devoted to cultivating planetary awareness through science and art. Through data visualisation, interactive experiences, and interdisciplinary storytelling, GLOBAÏA produces work for scientists, educators, filmmakers, museums, and institutions — helping audiences see Earth as a finite, dynamic, and interconnected whole.
Full description
GLOBAÏA was born from urgency — the urgency to understand, and the urgency to act. Founded in 2010 by Félix Pharand-Deschênes, it is a non-profit organisation devoted to cultivating planetary awareness through science and art.
Its name holds two ideas together: the global and Gaïa — the planetary whole, and the living Earth. Its motto names the means by which it tries to make that whole more intelligible and more felt. A viable future will depend not only on better tools and institutions, but on the emergence of worldviews more commensurate with the realities of Earth as a finite, dynamic, and interconnected whole.
GLOBAÏA creates visual narratives for scientists, educators, filmmakers, museums, and institutions — including as part of the so-called "Third UN," the informal networks of researchers and civil-society organisations that shape global policy. Its interactive work spans climate, biodiversity, deep time, cosmology, and the rapidly unfolding history of artificial intelligence.
