Forty-eight Ages of a single planetary century. Each curve below is a
proxy for one of the societal and biophysical transformations our epoch
has set in motion — from warheads and fertiliser to plutonium in lake
sediment and bisphenol-A in seawater. Read alone, any one of them is
anecdote. Read together, they are a portrait — perhaps the only
portrait — of what it means to live inside an exponential.
This is an open dashboard. The data are real, the sources are cited,
the panels are wrong in places we have not yet found. If you know a
better series, a sharper reference, a missing Age, or a correction to
one already here — tell us. We will revise the
record as the record itself revises us.
No wrong answers. We're just curious who we're talking to.

Be honest. How are we doing?
The whole gradient is here for a reason. We can take it.

Thank you — truly.
Every answer helps us see the planet, and our work, a little more clearly.

An immersive, soothing voyage to abstract infinity awaits. Best with long,
slow space-ambient music — whatever lets you drift — your screen full, and
nothing asked of you for a while.
